Statement of a Large Group of Republicans
The Unity of Republicans, the Only Path to Save Iran
We call upon all republican parties, movements, groups, and individuals, with diverse perspectives both inside and outside the country,
At this critical and decisive moment, to unite in order to establish democracy, justice, and individual and collective freedoms as enshrined in international frameworks, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its related conventions, as well as the elimination of discrimination against women and the protection of equal rights for the diverse ethnic communities and peoples of Iran, in accordance with relevant United Nations declarations on indigenous peoples and minority rights.
We call for unity in the pursuit of the rule of law, the eradication of corruption, oppression, and injustice, the preservation of territorial integrity, and the honoring of the sacrifices of those who have lost their lives in the struggle for freedom, as well as the suffering endured by innocent political prisoners and their families.
We urge all republican forces to come together in a clear and unified formation, demonstrating the collective strength of this broad and diverse movement to the people of Iran, the international community, and the global order. This unity must show that the objective of these efforts is the rejection of the current system of religious authoritarianism and its replacement with a modern and genuine democracy, made possible through a cohesive and viable republican and secular alternative.
We consider the immediate formation of the Strategic Council of Republican Forces in Iran a top priority.
We, the undersigned, representing a wide range of republican perspectives both inside and outside the country, and sharing many common values, fully support the sincere and national initiative of committed activists within Iran, including those currently imprisoned. We recognize that the majority of past and present political prisoners belong to this current, and we believe that unity and cohesion represent the only viable path out of the present crisis.
We therefore support this meaningful alliance, the formation of the Strategic Council, and comprehensive cooperation with protest movements and the legitimate and rights-based uprising of the proud people of Iran, in pursuit of a successful transition from the Islamic Republic.
We welcome the future announcement of individuals who, based on collective wisdom and a commitment to justice, will be introduced as members of this council. We commit ourselves to making every effort to strengthen national unity.
We pledge to stand together for Iran and for all its people, regardless of religion, ideology, political belief, ethnicity, or gender. We are committed to the establishment of a secular, democratic, and decentralized or federal republic, free from personal ambition or claims to power, grounded in respect for the ballot box, the will of the people, and the decisions of a future Constituent Assembly.
We remain fully committed to this covenant and will spare no effort in advancing freedom, justice, prosperity, livelihood, and the happiness of the Iranian people.
